Je ne sais quoi

gretaroseevans:

People think it’s weak to love others through the bad stuff. Over the last few weeks, I’ve come to realize it’s not weak at all. It’s actually extremely powerful. To be able to love people enough to say, “I don’t care what you’re going through. Or what you need to experience in life. I’ll be here for you no matter what.” That doesn’t make you weak, it makes you strong. We’re messed up and God still loves us. It’s easy to love people when they’re in a good place or when they’re being nice. It’s hard to love people in their mess. But what if God treated us the way we treat other people? What if the minute we messed up or made a mistake God just left us behind or stopped blessing our life? How many times have you been in a hard place in your life, or you were acting out, and you just needed someone to be a friend and love you through it? I’m not saying give yourself over to others, I’m not saying let yourself be hurt by them, or deal with disrespect, but I’m saying stop acting like you’re perfect cause you’re not. And stop cutting people off because they are just as imperfect as you. Meet someone in their mess, their pain, their darkness. Not to be nice, not for good karma, but because that’s how you would want to be treated.

thats-all-i-can-say:

I came across something the other day that reminded me of you and I wanted to send it to you. But then I realised we are no longer friends and this massive sadness rushed over me. I really miss you.

  • My therapist: Look at nature. Look at flowers. We never walk into our garden and say "Oh wouldn't that flower be so much more pretty if it were taller? Or red instead of pink?" No, we don't. Because nature was created perfect just as it is. And so are we. We are part of nature, we are how we're meant to be, we are perfect just as we are.
